This week students learned about a new sound, –Ee-. The teacher provided them a short vocabulary with some words with this sound, at the same time, the vocabulary were portrayed on the board with some pictures in order to make students relate the words to their images.
Students practiced the vocabulary Ee through funny activities by using the floor instead of the board and also including the use of flashcards with the words and the pictures. The teacher drew something on the floor at first and students had to say the word, then the teacher wrote the words next to the picture to make them practice and identify each and picture with its respective name.
The use of flashcards was another entertaining activity since students needed to be focused and paying attention in order to do things right. The teacher had 5 flashcards with pictures and 5 flashcards with words, she started by putting a first one (could be a picture or a word) on the floor, then she chose a child and this one had to look for the correspondent flashcard and put it next to the partner. The main idea of this activity was to make students differentiate the words, practice the spelling and be able to recognize the signified and the signifier.
Another funny activity was about doing a contest, the students were divided into two groups, one for boys and one for girls. The teacher called one boy and one girl to go to the board. She showed them a flashcard with a picture and they had to run to the board and write the word of that picture quickly without making mistakes. When they finished with the pictures, to the teacher started the game again but this time she was going to show them the word and students had to make the drawings.

WEEK OF CULTURE, ART AND KNOWLEDGE
This week we celebrated culture, art and knowledge by doing a lot of activities for children to enjoy and spend a good time. Three days were dedicated to these special occasions. The first day students came to the school wearing a custome of their favorite character, then they saw a clown show at the beginning of the day, took a lot of pictures and had fun so much.
In this second rotation over here, students had an art time in which they painted some drawings on the white walls in the way they wanted and using the colors they wanted to. They felt very happy since they were having a good time, doing a different activity, playing roles with their customes and sharing the painting and drawing with their partners.
In the last rotation of the day, students played with clay. They had to represent something they wanted by modeling clay. Some of them tried to make the image of themselves using the custome and some others just ignited their imagination and did just want they wanted to do. The main idea was to make students be creative and portray their imagination on the things they did with the clay.
The second day was dedicated to science, that is to say that it was a science fair day in which children could learn from experiments related to the four elements. Air, fire, water and earth. In the first part or rotation, a teacher showed to the students how to make an experiment with air where a marshmallow was injected with air to change its size.
The second experiment was about fire, it was named lava lamp. The teacher filled a bottle with water halfway, then she added a few drops of dye or tempera, next thing she did was to stir well to mix with water, after that she filled the bottle with oil to the top, she waited like two minutes and she added a half teaspoon of baking soda next, finally students could see the magic and the effects.
The next experiment was with water, it was named milk of colors. The teacher put milk in a deep dish and wait for it to repose, then she put some drops of dyes in the milk, she tried to add more colors. After that she put the brush into the mixture, specifically in contact with the milk and finally students could notice and amaze for the beautiful dance of colors.
The last experiment was related to earth. It was named the volcano. The teacher first added baking soda into the hollow of a volcano made of a bottle and decorated with play do’h, next step she added a spoonful of liquid dish soap in the same place. Then, she put about five or six drops of red food coloring inside to simulate lava and after that she added vinegar and boom, they could see the exploitation
In the last day, students visited El solar de Mao, a place where there were a lot of animals, such as pigs, roosters, chickens, rabbits, hamsters. They could feed the animals, talk about them, and recognize their characteristics, their habitats among other more things. Then children had a special moment to play some typical games of their culture, like la rayuela which was a game in which students had to throw a little stone on a pencil drawn on the floor and then they had to take the stone back.
Another game was called Carrera de sacos, this is a popular game in which children made a competition where they had to jump using a sack and get to the finish line without falling down.
